Moonlight Cinema featuring Queen of Katwe

(anti) Socials at the Point presents Moonlight Cinema. A socially distant conscious movie experience.

We’re launching our newest (anti)socials programming, Moonlight Cinema, together with a call for participation from our community, and we hope you’ll join us!
BYOC.....bring your own chair. Grab your comfiest portable chair or blanket and pick a spot in our Backyard an Brick South. Concessions available for purchase onsite, including a full bar. No outside food or beverage is permitted. Limited to 50 people.
The films we’ve chosen to kick off this program are aimed at opening up conversations about matters of race and representation in our community. The Moonlight Cinema series provides opportunities to use film to enable families to have conversations about race and talk about the forms of social inequities that our BIPOC families have faced for centuries.
For the month of August, we’re going to focus on titles that are family-friendly and accessible to audiences of all ages. We hope you’ll come and join us for a fun night in a safe, outdoor environment with your kids. And we hope that when families leave, it will be with the seeds of new ways of seeing their neighbors having been planted, and that they will be nourished by your conversations at home about what they saw, what they heard, how they felt, and how we can all work harder to make a more just and equitable society.
Entrance is complimentary for all, though we will require visitors to make reservations as space is limited. We will ask guests to consider making a donation to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s Legal Defense Fund. Thompson’s Point will match donations dollar for dollar from our concessions sales proceeds up to 20% of total sales. For more information on LDF visit: https://www.naacpldf.org/.
